Brazil advances with the implementation of the Mosaic initiative at subnational level. Brazil is moving forward with the Mosaic initiative through a nationwide effort to strengthen respiratory virus surveillance. Led by the Ministry of Health with support from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), National Council of Health Secretaries, municipal health authorities, and the Todos pela Saúde Institute, the country has already conducted dozens of workshops that are shaping state-level plans to enhance preparedness, response, and surveillance capacities for respiratory threats, building on lessons learned from influenza and COVID-19.
