This year’s meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss key challenges and opportunities in respiratory virus surveillance in the Americas, share best practices in pandemic preparedness, review current prevention and control recommendations, and reflect on progress in vaccine effectiveness evaluation.

The main goals of the SARInet plus/REVELAC-i annual meeting are:
- Present and discuss current challenges and opportunities in respiratory virus surveillance in the Americas Region, by component:
- Early detection and assessment of (re)emerging respiratory viruses, through One Health approaches
- Monitoring of epidemiological characteristics of respiratory viruses
- Operational research
- Virological and genomic surveillance
- Share best practices in pandemic preparedness planning.
- Present and discuss current recommendations for the prevention and control of:
- Influenza
- COVID-19
- RSV
- Share progress in the prevention of respiratory viruses and discuss the challenges of the REVELAC-I Network in evaluating the effectiveness and impact of vaccination against influenza and other respiratory viruses.
